Privacy policy
Last updated November 3, 2026
Shelfbuzzer is run by Yahiv Inc., a New York corporation ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information we collect when you use shelfbuzzer.com and the Shelfbuzzer app, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address and password (stored only as a secure hash).
- What you put in your workspace: items, quantities, storage areas, sites, suppliers and their contact details, orders, counts, equipment, and notes. This is your data.
- Activity: a record of changes (for example "Used 6 lb of chicken") with who made them and when, so your team can see what happened.
- Shelf-tag scans: when someone scans a shelf tag, we record the quantity they report and, only if they type it, their name. We don't ask guests for an email or account.
- Billing: if you choose a paid plan, our payment processor collects your card details. We never see or store your full card number.
- Technical information: basic logs such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, used to keep the service secure and working.
How we use it
- To run Shelfbuzzer: show your inventory, calculate what to order and when, send the emails you ask for (invites, orders to suppliers, the morning summary).
- To bill paid plans and send receipts.
- To keep accounts secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
- To tell you about important changes to the service. Product news is occasional, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
We don't sell your information, and we don't use your workspace data for advertising.
Who can see your data
Only people you invite to your workspace can see its data, according to the role you give them. Each workspace is kept separate from every other one inside the database itself. Guests who scan a shelf tag see only that one item's name and storage area.
We use a small number of trusted service providers to run Shelfbuzzer, each only for its job:
- Supabase: database and sign-in
- Vercel: hosting the website and app
- Stripe: payments
- Resend: sending emails
- Cloudflare: domain, network security, and forwarding emails sent to our @shelfbuzzer.com addresses
We may share information if required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public.
Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and remember your workspace. No advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep your workspace data while your account is open. If a free trial ends without a plan, the workspace becomes read-only and nothing is deleted. You can delete a workspace or your whole account yourself in Settings; it's removed right away. If you ask us to do it, we delete it within 30 days, apart from billing records we must keep by law. Backups are overwritten on a rolling basis.
Security
All connections are encrypted (HTTPS). Data is stored with a major cloud provider and encrypted at rest. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.
Your choices and rights
- You can see, edit and export your workspace data at any time (Settings, Import and export).
- You can ask us for a copy of your personal information, to correct it, or to delete it.
- Residents of some places (such as California or the EU) have extra rights under local law. We honor those requests.
Children
Shelfbuzzer is a business tool and isn't meant for children under 16. We don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we make important changes to this policy, we'll update the date above and let account owners know by email.
